DIY Editing

History of film:

The main aim of illustrated music was to increase the purchase of sheet music; they were exceedingly effective with sales into the millions for a single song. Subsequently, with the birth of film, illustrated songs were used as interim material before films and during reel swaps.

If you request an edit friendly version to be supplied, you'll be able to perform these tasks, and many more besides, once you've enjoyed the benefits of our telecine services.

History of Cine Film

In 1950, the Lettrists forward thinkers sparked riots at the Cannes Film Festival, when Isidore Isou's Treatise on Slime and Eternity was shown. Subsequent to their condemnation of Charlie Chaplin and rift with the movement, the Ultra-Lettrists persisted in causing commotion when they displayed their new hypergraphical methods. The most infamous movie is Guy Debord's Howls for Sade of 1952.

Concerned by the growing figure of shut down theatres, studios and companies would find novel and pioneering ways to bring crowds back. These included efforts to literally expand their attraction with new monitor formats. Cinemascope, which would stay a 20th Century Fox peculiarity until 1967, was propounded with 1953's The Robe. VistaVision, Cinerama, and Todd-AO showed off a "bigger is better" style of marketing movies to a shrinking US crowd. This led to the stimulation of impressive movies to exploit the new big screen formats. Several of the most triumphant examples of these Biblical and historical epics include The Ten Commandments (1956), Spartacus (1960) and El Cid (1961). Also through this era a number of other key movies were made in Todd-AO, produced by Mike Todd soon before his death, including Oklahoma! (1955) and Cleopatra (1963), plus lots more.
